Grow in Christ

Brad Gregory coordinates Heartland's Everyman Ministry Grow opportunities. Through small groups of men, one-to-one spiritual mentoring, and other offerings, our vision is that Everyman will be a disciple. Whether you are just beginning to explore what you believe about Jesus Christ or have walked with him for many years, we want to help you grow in your knowledge of and relationship with him. Contact Brad via email for more information.

Men's Journey, Friday Mornings

Men's Journey small groups provide men who want to follow Jesus more closely an opportunity to share their victories and their struggles. MJ runs in "seasons" that generally follow the school year, and the 2010-2011 season begins in September. MJ Friday mornings begins September 17 with two options for attending. Join us at the church for free coffee at 6:15am, or join MJ North at Homer's coffee house at 6:30am. We always end at 7:30 promptly so you can head out for work. Contact Steve Specker or Alex Miller for more info.

Men's Journey NORTH, Friday Mornings

For those who find getting to (and from) the church on Friday mornings too difficult, we also offer MJ North. These small groups meet at Homer’s Coffee house on 80th Street and Metcalf from 6:30 am to 7:30am .  Contact Brad Gregory for more info.

1:1 Spiritual Mentoring

Learn the truth of God's word with another man. This six-month study is designed for anyone who would like to learn more about the faith. Click here to contact Brad Gregory for further information.

Man Tuesday:

Men's Journey, Tuesday Evenings

Want to be in a Men’s small group but can't make it Friday mornings? Not to worry! Men's Journey PM meets Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm. Come early and enjoy some informal conversation before we begin promptly at 6:30. For more information, email Mark Murfield.

Men's Fraternity

This small group setting provides men an encouraging place where they learn how to live a life of authentic manhood as modeled by Jesus and directed by the Word of God. This study will give you the tools to become a better husband, father, and friend by offering a clear and compelling definition of what it means to be a Christian man and then inspire and equip you to incorporate this into the fabric of your everyday life.

Groups will meet on Tuesday nights 6:30-8:00pm at Heartland Community Church.

Reflections from Heartland’s Men’s Adventure Trip, 2010

Posted: Aug 30 2010

The Colorado skyline was silhouetted pines with the moon and stars as a backdrop and, since the air had cooled, the crackling fire provided not only the ideal ambience but much appreciated warmth as well. Several guitars were brought out, tuned up and then several of the men began singing worship songs. As the others joined in I silently listened, taking some time instead to look into the faces of each of the men present, all of whom I’d only known a few days.

But somehow their rugged faces looked different to me now. I knew them now, and not just their names but their stories as well. I knew their pain, I knew their triumphs and I knew their struggles. Each of them had been open and honest with me and hadn’t tried to be anybody other than who they were. They had displayed courage and strength & I admired them for it. To me, that’s what makes real men.

Perhaps these men could help me, I thought. They seemed to have a closeness and fellowship — both amongst themselves and with God — that I had come searching for. That’s what I had wanted. That’s what I need.
