I want to Volunteer

Are you ready to volunteer at Heartland? We need you to make things happen around here! There are many ways you can give your time and be a part of something incredible in the Heartland community. Check out our volunteer opportunities. Find something that sounds intriguing? Complete our I Want To Volunteer Form.

Rather talk to someone first? Stop by our Welcome Center before or after a service on Sunday morning. Our Go Coaches will take your skills, interests and passions and help you choose the volunteer opportunity that fits best.

Take a Test Drive

A test drive is an opportunity for you to try volunteering in any area of your choice one time to see what you think. Like it? We’ll help you get connected. Don’t like it? No worries. Try another one! We’re confident you’ll find one you love! Complete the I Want To Volunteer Form and test drive any ministry or role.

Cafe Volunteers Needed to Brew and Deliver Coffee

Posted: Jul 07 2010

Love the smell of a good cup of joe in the morning? Then we've got the volunteer spot for you! We are currently in need of additional brew team members. We will provide the training on our equipment, and you will get the chance to work with 2-3 other great people in preparing our Heartland Blend coffee for our guests! Coffee volunteers also help greet and assist Heartland guests at the coffee bar in the atrium. For many of our first time guests you are one of the only personal contacts they will have at Heartland.

Cafe Team Volunteers serve one 2.75 hour shift per month. Shifts are every Sunday, 7:30-10:15 am and 10:15-1:00 pm, and the first Wednesday of each month for New Community, 5:30-9:00 pm.

If you would like to check out this serving opportunity, please fill out the "I Want To Volunteer!" form. We will be in touch to set up your test drive.

Come Host Volunteer Central 1-2x a Month!

Posted: Jul 07 2010

Volunteer Central is the place to be before services at Heartland! Often raucous, always encouraging, the environment in Volunteer Central sets the pace for a volunteer's serving experience.

We are looking for 4 additional volunteers to host on Sunday morning in Volunteer Central. You get the chance to greet all of our volunteers, high 5 them, and treat them to a grab-and-go style breakfast. The food is purchased and on hand...all you have to do is help restock it and keep things clean and orderly! Working in Volunteer Central is a great way to meet new people, and become familiar with all the great folks who make Heartland run on Sunday morning.

We operate in two shifts, and teams of 2-3 people per shift. Most of our volunteers serve 1-2 Sundays a month, from either 7:30-10:00 or 10:00-12:30. The morning goes fast, and the bonus is that you get to watch the service on our live feed from the auditorium.

If you enjoy hosting parties, serving others, and encouraging people we would love to meet you! Please fill out the "I Want To Volunteer!" form and we will be in touch to set up your test drive.

Frontline Volunteers Needed to Direct Traffic

Posted: Jul 07 2010

We need you on the Frontline team! Our job is to welcome new and returning guests to Heartland each week. Frontline volunteers serve in the parking lot every other Sunday to help direct traffic and welcome people to our campus with a hearty hello. Several shifts are available; we need the most help at our 12-12:45 shift.

First impressions matter, and we work hard to have enough people on hand to facilitate a smooth parking experience for all of our guests, preparing them to enter the building and hear God's message without the burden of traffic frustration! If you would like to join us, your first step is to come out on a Sunday for a test drive. You will work alongside a Frontline volunteer who can show you the ropes and answer any questions. If after your test drive you are ready to go, we will get you on our every other week rotation and show you how to use our volunteer scheduling system.

Please fill out the "I Want To Volunteer!" form and we will be in touch to set up your test drive.

New Volunteer Role: Children’s Ministry Ambassador

Posted: Apr 29 2010

Do you remember the first time you visited a church and had to check your kids in with caregivers they did not know? This is a big step for new families at Heartland, and we are seeking volunteers who will take that step with them. In this role, you will come alongside a new Heartland family at the Children's Check In counter. After they receive the child's nametag, you will give them a tour of the children's area, ending at their child's room. You will introduce the family to the room leaders, stay until the child is settled in the room, and walk out with the parents. Each of these moments gives you a chance to encourage the parents and child, share some of Heartland's vision, and answer any questions they may have. Your end goal is to make sure the sit down in the auditorium confident that their kiddo is in great hands, and that they have a new friend in the building. Interested? Complete the I Want To Volunteer Form and we will get you set for a test drive as a Children's Ministry Ambassador.

We Need You on the Children’s Ministry Summer Team!

Posted: Apr 29 2010

Ah – baseball season is underway and summer is just around the corner.  And as we gear up for summer at Heartland, there’s a specific short-term volunteer need I wanted to let you know about.

Volunteer in Children's Ministry from Heartland Community Church on Vimeo.

You may not realize this, but in order to ensure the safety of the kiddos in Children’s Ministry on Sunday mornings, we have to have a certain number of volunteers helping - and when the number of volunteers is too low, it means we have to actually close classrooms and turn kids away.   That’s why our Go Serve team is partnering with Children’s Ministry to help build our Children’s Ministry Summer Team.  You can help us have a safe and fun spot for all of the little guys and gals who come through our doors this summer by signing up to help lead a small group or serve in a classroom.

You need to serve just 7 times between mid-June and early September - and you choose the age group (infants through 5th grade).  We’ll train you and set you up to succeed - and to have a bunch of fun in the process.

If you’re a parent, I’d especially encourage you to jump in and take this opportunity to volunteer with Children’s Ministry.  You as a parent are the primary faith shaper in your child’s life – and I know that the training and experience you’ll get through serving in Children’s Ministry will help you better fill that role with your own child or children.

Sign Up Today and put Children's Ministry Summer Team in the "I am interested..." window.
