Middle School

The middle school service meets Sundays at 11 am in the Youth Room (for 6th, 7th & 8th grade students).

Who are we? We are people committed to building a church for the unchurched. And we want a youth ministry that reaches students who aren't churched. That means we are creating environments that are safe and fun for students to enter. You'll create lasting relationships with our excellent group of leaders.

Join us on Sunday mornings or at an event listed below!

If you haven’t heard….life groups are on a break

Posted: Jan 23 2012

We're taking a break from Wednesday night activities to work on training our leaders and listen to what God has next.

If you're interested in growing deeper in your faith, please contact us and we'd love to help! Serving around the church (and outside the church) are incredible ways to grow your faith. Check out some opportunities that you can do with your friends or family here.

A Letter to Parents,

I hope and pray your 2012 gets off to a great start. Your kids are such a blast to hangout with. Our adult leader team (over 15 adults now!) continues to impress me with their shepherding of your sons and daughters.

I wanted to let you know about a change coming up in 2012 for the middle school ministry. We are taking a break from life groups and the Wednesday evening format. I have wanted to train, lead and invest in our adult leader team for a long time now. And that's what we're going to start 2012 doing: training & developing the leaders that hang out with your kids.

If you're reading this it's probably because your son and/or daughter has truly found a place to belong at Heartland. Moreover, I know that Wednesday night has become something they look forward to. It's obvious that for nearly 20-25 middle school students, it's been a great source of community.

As the leader of the middle school ministry, I've prayed and planned and feel strongly led to make this transition. We're going to take some time and learn about what it means to disciple teenagers (and in some of your families' cases...those almost-teenagers!) Pray that we might have listening ears and obedient hearts as we get better at the task of making disciples.

In the meantime, if your child is looking to take a next step in their faith, we think that serving either inside the walls of Heartland or outside at one of our local mission partners is a GREAT step towards growing. You can find a list of ways to get connected here and here.

There are also a couple events coming up that will be a lot of fun (Nerf Gun War in February!)

Please stay tuned for happenings that will give your son or daughter a chance to grow in their faith at Heartland. I don't know "when" we'll be done training our leaders, but we will certainly communicate with great effort.

Thanks for your support…and thanks for being great parents. (You are, believe it!)
High school life groups will continue as normal, in case you were wondering.

Sincerely,

Shibu Mathew

Life groups are taking a break this semester

Posted: Jan 02 2012

We are taking a break from middle school life groups currently.

Stay tuned for ways to get connected and grow deeper in your faith. We are doing some intentional training with our leaders to prepare for what God's got in store for our student ministry. In the meantime, if you're interested in serving and growing in that way, please talk to a leader on Sunday or get ahold of us. We'd love to help you take your next steps in following Jesus.
