HCC Acquires
Rhodes Facility
|
|
It's
official. Heartland purchased the former Rhodes Furniture building on
Friday, February 29th. The building was purchased for $6.45 M dollars and
is currently valued at more than $11 M. The purchase was made possible by
the generous givers at Heartland who participated financially in the go.
campaign.
Steve Fisher and the staff are currently working
with the design team of 360 Architecture. They are about halfway through
with the preliminary design. The new facility will feature a 1,600 seat
sloped auditorium, offices, classrooms, bookstore, and several open air
courtyards. The construction should begin this summer and be completed in
time for our first services there in the fall of 2009. The building is
located at 12175 S. Strang Line Road in Olathe. Click here

In anticipation of the move, Tom Brawner is leading a team of pioneers to
prepare the way. A third service
called the "South Service" will begin meeting this coming fall in
a facility near Rhodes. In preparation, the pioneer leaders are studying What You Do Best in the Body of Christ.

Crown Financial Ministry Small Groups
|

Make an
Impact! "Money affects every sphere of our life." Crown Financial
Ministry Small groups assist you on your journey to financial freedom. The
study helps you understand how to connect the way you handle money with
your relationship with God. There will be groups for men, women and
couples.
Individuals
and couples will have the opportunity to build a healthy financial strategy
over the course of the 10-week study no matter where you are. Stop by the

Summer Bible Camp and Easter Egg
Extravaganza
|
|
Sign up
your kids for Summer Bible Camp
(SBC). The dates for this years SBC are Monday, June 23rd through Thursday,
June 26th from 9:30 a.m. to noon. There is a final program and dinner on
the evening of June 26th, 6 - 8 p.m. Children aged 4 through those entering
6th grade in the fall of '08 are welcome to attend. Forms are
available at the information table and on the Children's Ministry bulletin
board.
In addition, Children's ministry will be hosting the Easter Egg Extravaganza. Fun
for the entire family! Come to the
gym after each service on Sunday, March 16th. We will have
snacks for everyone, games for older kids and an Easter egg hunt for
younger kids.

The Gathering (a ministry of Heartland Community Church) is
a group of college and post college folks who meet together on Sunday
evenings at 7:00 pm for worship, prayer, and community.
If you
consider the gathering your home community and want to become more involved
you are invited to attend '61'

Get on the Bus
|
|
Men's Journey is sponsoring "Get On
The Bus" tomorrow!
The bus will leave the Heartland (83rd & Lamar) South parking lot at 7am
sharp on Saturday, March 8th. We will have
breakfast sandwiches, fruit, juice, and coffee available upon arrival at
the Rhodes building. Please bring $8 for lunch. We will be having Oklahoma
Joe's brought to us (ribs and fries). Dress warm! There is heat in the
building, it just might not be set quite as high as the average Johnson
County home.

Please take the opportunity to read Matthew 28:18-20, 1
Corinthians 12, and pray for our time together. Also, take a few minutes to
reflect on and write down how God might be personally calling you to impact
men and help make disciples. Don't forget to bring your Bible, pen, and
paper.
