We have had three official services out South and we are having an amazing time. This past Sunday we had 256 adults and children at Pioneer Trail Junior High. We are learning so many things like some of the set up and tear down volunteers need another shirt because of sweating from the hard work! It is so cool to see volunteers serving together to make the South Service a reality. Dan has been with us for two of Sundays and check out his email below about his experience. I hope you each get to come visit us some Sunday morning!
Case in point, I met a new guy after the service. It was his first time to Heartland – any Heartland. In fact, it was his first time attending a church in KC. He had moved from California just weeks prior and was living out of a friend’s house until he could move into his own apartment. I asked him how he heard about us. He said, “The internet.” But the coolest part were his first words to me, “Hi, I’m gonna make this my home.” |

Dear Mom and Dad,
Do you ever wonder what happens behind those gym doors? Well, I am so excited to invite you to come to Great Adventure with me on October 26th!!! I love how much fun I have on Sunday mornings and just wanted to share it with you. We can do music together, watch our Drama team, listen to a bible story, and meet my small group leader. They are even going to treat us to pancakes!
I know you like to go to the adult service but having you in the gym with me this one Sunday will let you know about what I do ALL year. And, besides, you can always podcast/videocast the service.
Love, Love, Love,
Your 1st-5th grader :) |

"Go" before the Lord. For 168 hours straight (24 hours a day for 7 full days), Heartland will be going before the Lord as a body. We will transform the gallery into a prayer room. We're challenging everyone to come for at least one hour during this week of prayer. If you'd like to be a one-hour or three-hour prayer room host, sign up under the Pray168 banner in the auditorium on October 5th or 12th following the 9am, 11am, or Gathering (7pm) services.
Some helpful tidbits:
*To prepare our hearts, we're spending time in Psalm 51, asking God to "prepare our hearts for our new home" as we anticipate our move.
*The prayer room is designed for "self directed" prayer times. We'll have written suggestions available, background music playing softly, but it is there for you to "go before the Lord." Two new additions to this structure will be:
1) 6am - 7am Monday thru Friday will be completely silent in the prayer room. If this is your conducive prayer environment, we'd love for you to start your day with us in this way
2) 8pm - 9pm Monday thru Friday will be times of corporate prayer. If you want to go before the Lord with brothers and sisters and intercede, please join us during this time
Questions? Visit the Pray168 area in the atrium or click here to contact Amy Guerreri. |

| Please pray for the Heartland missions team of Cynthia Pincombe, Martha Comment, Dirk Davis, and Nicholas James, as they go to Nigeria during October 3-11. They will be going to Lagos, and connecting with Heartland's mission alliance there, the West Africa Theological Seminary (WATS). The team will be helping with medical ministry and encouraging students at WATS. They will also spend time visiting a village about two hours away from WATS, which will take them outside of the greater Lagos area. They will be present for a showing of the Jesus film in this village, and also provide some medical care for the people of the village. Click here for the latest news on their trip. |
