2007 Big Rocks
"Big Rocks" are our annual goals for the current year. This concept
comes from the best-selling author Franklin Covey who says that to
maximize your time and plans, you must always focus on the most important
things first. Below is a list of "Big Rocks" that are our global
priorities and the things that we measure intently for every area within our
church.
Big Rock 1 – Christ-likeness
- Re-declaring our end-goal: becoming like Jesus individually, as a church, and in to the world
- Develop a clear and simple path for kids, youth, adults, and families
- Disciple and train our staff and key leaders first
- Sharpen our tools
Point Leader: Shelley Winkler
Suggested Reading: the gospel of Mark; The Great Omission, Dallas Willard
Big Rock 2 – Sending Disciples
- Clarify who/what leadership roles we desire to develop
- Research and evaluate Church planting models
- Re-evaluate our leadership development path
- Assess size, structure and resource needs of our organization to accomplish our strategy
Point Leaders: Glenn Kahler and Eric Rochester
Suggested Reading: the book of Acts
Big Rock 3 – Pre-Move Growth Strategies
- Organizational Excellence
- Creative Facility use over next 3 years
- Assess critical staffing additions to position for future growth
- Services
Point Leader: Dan Deeble
Big Rock 4 – Keep go.ing
- 3-year follow-up plan for “go.”
Point Leader: Clarke Smith
We’d love to have your help working toward these BIG ROCKS!
