This Year's Theme
Everything that is right and wrong with the world is found in the first three chapters of the Bible. It’s here we discover why we hurt and why we disappoint ourselves. It’s here we find both our need for a Savior and our purpose.
We’ve worked hard to make sure this year’s Fall Retreat is wildly fun AND safe. Below are some frequently asked questions we’ve done our best to anticipate! If your question hasn’t been answered, CLICK HERE to email Sagan Hundley.
We are excited to be able to offer an in-person Fall Retreat experience and are dedicated to the safety of our community as we do. Students and leaders will be required to wear a mask indoors throughout the entirety of the event. We ask that any student or leader who is experiencing any common symptoms of Covid-19 or that has been exposed to someone who has recently tested positive, not participate in the event.
Drop-off and pick-up will always be onsite at Heartland. Check-in begins at 6:00 PM on Friday, October 8. Pick-up on Friday for 5-8th grade is 9:30 PM and 10:00 PM for grades 9-12. Saturday, October 8 drop-off at 9 AM and pickup for 5-8th grade is 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM for grades 9-12.
Transportation will be provided by screened and adult small group leaders who have completed background checks, Heartland staff, and parents. Saturday afternoon activities are scheduled to take place offsite at local area parks. Exact locations can be given upon request.
Absolutely! We know fall is a busy time with sports and other school or family activities. If your student is only able to participate in a portion of the weekend, please contact Sagan or Shibu so that they communicate with the small group leader assigned to your student and special drop-off or pick-up arrangements can be made.
Nope. Parents or guardians should plan to drop-off and pick-up their student on both Friday and Saturday of the event at the scheduled times.
Students should plan to bring a notebook, their Bible, and a pen. Your student should wear clothes that they will be comfortable in outdoors and indoors and that allow them to participate in games and activities. Masks will be required to be worn at all times indoors.
Fall Retreat is a BLAST! This weekend will be packed full of fun, connection, and dynamic worship experiences. This year’s theme will focus on how God brings order to chaos. We can’t wait to see how he’ll show up as we make space to meet with him in community together!
"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."
