At Heartland, we make space for building relationships that make Jesus first. This summer, we invite YOU to join us on this exciting journey! Our goal is to empower and equip you, a passionate and driven college student, to step into leadership within the church. Whether you’re exploring a future in full-time ministry or seeking to grow as a leader in your current path, this internship is designed to prepare you for a lifetime of making a meaningful impact for Christ.
Our interns are valuable members of our team. You won’t just make copies and get coffee; you’ll be an integral part of our ministry. You’ll find leadership development, meaningful mentorship, and opportunities to make a genuine impact through highly relational ministry.
Position Summary:
This position is perfect for college students seeking to develop leadership skills through hands-on experience and mentorship. You will help plan and lead weekly discipleship programs for MOVE (middle school) and MVMT (high school) ministries, fostering relationships, teaching, and organizing summer events and camps. Regular meetings with your supervisor will provide support and guidance as you grow in ministry and leadership.
The Deets
Duties:
- Discipleship and relationship building.
- Attend middle school camp & high school camp as needed.
- Lead weekly discipleship opportunities for high school students.
- Connect with middle and high school students beyond weekly programming (relational pursuit).
- Attend weekly team meetings and trainings (Staff meetings, C&D, Student Team, etc.).
Development
- Engage in weekly teaching input led by Heartland staff.
- Participate in weekly discipleship in community with other interns and Heartlanders.
- Meet regularly with supervisor.
- Function as a staff teammate, learning how to lead & work in a church setting.
Programming
- Relationally pursue students across all ministries.
- Lead small groups, teach, and connect at MOVE on Sunday mornings.
- Develop and execute Wednesday MVMT services/event calendar.
Compensation
Interns will receive a stipend of $1200 for the summer. Pre-approved programming and discipleship expenses will be reimbursed.
Details:
This internship will last 10 weeks, from Tuesday, May 26 – Sunday, August 2.
Two weeks of camp this summer are:
Middle school camp Mix July 6-9 in Siloam Springs, AR
High school camp Move June 15-19 in Holland, Michigan
