In it’s 5^th year, the Hope Center’s “Learn to Earn” program provides summer lawn- care employment opportunities for youth on Kansas City’s east side.  Heartland is the founding partner in Learn to Earn and is seeking pairs of volunteers to work once per month and shoulder-to-shoulder with Hope Center teens cutting grass and tending to their gardens.  Learn to Earn students are supervised by Hope Center staff and the role we play is to instruct, demonstrate, encourage and do great work so that these students gain that first-job experience that teaches so many life lessons.  Heartlander teams will volunteer in a Saturday morning rotation.
