seeking writers for weekly heartland study guide and social media support

Heartland produces a weekly study guide (currently called the Journey) that partners with our Sunday teaching and offers a guided study to help individuals apply the teaching to their daily lives.

In 2016 we are testing out some new methods, writing styles and tools to make this resource easier to access. In addition, we will begin sharing it as a blog and series of social media posts, designed to add value to all our lives as we seek to understand and follow God more closely throughout the week.

To do this, we are looking for writers ready to contribute 1-2 times a month with either personal response/reflection, group and individual study questions, and image/graphic curation for social media posts. We meet on Sundays from 10:15-11:30 in the Writer's Room, and are looking to expand our team.

Interested in learning more about this developing opportunity? CLICK HERE and select Communications: Writers.

We look forward to meeting you soon!

women unplugged am & pm groups relaunch

Tuesday Nights & Wednesday Mornings

Calling all women from every season of life and every step of faith! Come lock arms with other women LIKE YOU who are desiring connection and authentic friendship. Women who are committed to growing in vulnerability while working hard to find the identity God has given us and how best we can use that to help others. Come as you are. We are a community centered on Jesus, Biblically based, and answering God’s call to uniquely share his love with the world.

Our January-May study will help us all address the feelings of being defenseless in this world and unaware of how to battle with strength through the challenges that come our way. We will use a study titled Armor of God, written by Priscilla Shirer, to aid us in developing a personal strategy to live confidently in our worth and value as we live this life.

Women Unplugged meets weekly in the Auditorium from January through May. We are currently operating on a wait list...please use the sign up links below and we will be in touch with more information!

  • Women Unplugged PM meets weekly on Tuesday evenings, 6:30-8:00, starting January 12. CLICK HERE to register.
  • Women Unplugged AM meets weekly on Wednesday mornings, 9:15-11:15 starting January 13. CLICK HERE to register. NOTE: There is limited space in childcare. At this time new registrations needing childcare will be added to a waitlist. You can still attend the program, but for the time being, will need to find your own childcare until space opens up and we are able to work more kiddos in. We appreciate your flexibility.

christian: it's not what you think study groups

Tuesdays, beginning January 12, 6:30-8 PM in the Garage

Christian. Ask 100 people to define it, you'll get 100 different definitions. It's likely that all 100 will be incorrect. "Christian" is a brand that can be good, bad, attractive, or repelling. It's a loaded label no matter whom you ask. But what does it mean to be a Christian? Where did the word come from? Why has it gotten such a bad rap? And how can we find what it means to be authentically “Christian” in ways that are unexpected, life-giving, compelling, and accessible today.

Christian—It’s Not What You Think, by Andy Stanley, is one of our Men’s Journey offerings in 2016. The groups will take place on Tuesday nights from 6:30-8 PM in the Garage beginning on January 12th.

Throughout this 10-week study, you will learn the one word that should describe every Christian, explore how Jesus followers should treat those who are outside the faith, and get an inside look into why people love Jesus but can’t stand his followers.

No prior experience with Bible is necessary, but even seasoned participants will be encouraged and challenged through this study. Cost is $10 to cover copies, coffee, and one meal. Childcare is available for a nominal nightly fee. Space is limited so sign up today to reserve your spot!

through the roof special needs ministry

Sunday's @ 11 AM

The purpose of Through the Roof is to help all families with special needs kids experience hospitality, acceptance, and support to participate in our church community.

In our sensory friendly TTR room, kids are welcomed by a team of compassionate volunteers. While families enjoy an opportunity for worry-free participation, TTR kids are able to experience the love of Jesus through the respect and kindness of our volunteers. A team of Kids Ministry musicians provide a time of music in the room.

Before you come, we ask that you fill out our registration form (CLICK HERE). We also ask that you stay in the room with your child the first week you attend. That way we can really get to know your child, and you can get to know us.

If you would like to volunteer on our team, CLICK HERE and sign up for a test drive. Experience with kids with special needs is not required but compassion is. Volunteers typically work one Sunday a month.
