first wednesday worship & communion

Wednesday, April 6, 7 PM on the Dock

First Wednesday is a worship and communion service on the Dock. Held each month, First Wednesday is a way to connect with God through deeper, more expressive worship and through prayer and communion with families, small groups or alone. If you've never been, come and check it out!

The music is awesome, the vibe is casual, and the pace allows for a unique time of connection to Jesus and each other.

Sundays, 10:15-11:30, Room 4

Our adult community welcomes adults, whether single, married, divorced or widowed. If you are looking for a Sunday morning study group, then adult community may just be the right fit for you.

The first few minutes are spent catching up on the past week and then we dive into the current study. Gary Blakeman and John Auld co-facilitate this interactive discussion of the Bible and how it relates to your life in today’s world. This is a safe place to voice your thoughts and hear what other people just like you are thinking. We engage with the Bible and various study materials throughout the year.

Hot Messenger coffee and tasty treats are available for your enjoyment. For more information, CLICK HERE to contact Gary Blakeman.

join a heartland volunteer team and be what is needed!

Ever wish you knew more people at Heartland? Or had a place to give back that fits in the rhythm of your life? We'd like to invite you into an adventure that will be life changing...for you and for the people you will impact! Heartland volunteer teams welcome our guests and create a safe, positive environment so that people can learn about Jesus and grow deeper in their relationship with him. We couldn't do what we do every week without awesome volunteers like you!

Some featured opportunities to consider include:

Heartland Kids

Join our Heartland Kids team and be a game changer in the life of children as they come to know Jesus. You will be partnered with other Kids' Team members, and given everything you need to make the day an awesome experience. You choose the service and the age, and we will provide the support!

Parking Team: Guest Services

Heartland's parking team is a key part of our Guest Services welcome plan. And we need welcoming folks like you to expand our presence and impact! As a parking greeter, you are the first contact for everyone entering our building. Your focus is to offer a warm hello, monitor the lot for people in need or anything out of place, and help regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at the crosswalks near the building. Shifts range from 45-75 minutes and occur before and after all services.

We currently need 5-6 parking lot greeters on each of the following shifts:

  • 10-11:15 AM
  • 12-12:45 PM
  • 4:30-5:15 PM

Greeters & Ushers: Guest Services

Help us roll out the red carpet for our guests on Sundays! We have greeter opportunities at every venue entrance, and at our front and back doors. Be part of the team that welcomes everyone with a smile, and helps start their day on the right foot.

CLICK HERE to sign up for a test drive on these and other teams. We look forward to meeting you!

rob hole @ everyman friday on april 1st!

Friday, April 1 @ 6:30 AM on the Dock (Coffee & Donuts at 6:15)

We’re pumped to welcome back Rob Hole as our April Everyman Friday guest speaker. His talk--The Best Adventure – Doing What He Says--will enourage and challenge us to follow God wholeheartedly.

For those who don’t know him, Rob was the former leader of Men’s Ministry at Heartland from 2005-2009 and is responsible for, among other things, the establishment of our vision of “Everyman” ministry. Rob currently serves as a firefighter with the Lenexa fire department, and is a long-time friend, leader, and mentor for many men here at Heartland and throughout our city as a normal dude – just like you.

As always, we encourage you to show up around 6:15 to enjoy coffee and donuts, we will begin promptly at 6:30, and will finish by 7:30 so you can make it to work on time.
