Heartland Kids

Your child matters to God. We’re here to help every child experience how loved and special they are.

Welcome to Heartland Kids!

Every week we serve kids from infant through 3rd grade during our Sunday worship services. Combining age-appropriate environments and curriculum with fun activities, large-group music and storytelling, we create experiences to help kids learn who God is and just how much he loves them.

Our Big Hope for Your Little One

You want the absolute best for your child, but parenting isn’t easy. We’re here to help! We could never play the key role in a child’s spiritual development the way you can, but we can provide experiences, resources and a whole lot of encouragement to help. Our prayer is for every family to make Jesus first in their home, relationships, and lives.

Frequent questions

Your child’s safety is a top priority. This begins with staff and volunteers who are background checked and trained to ensure their safety. No child will ever be alone with one of our leaders. Each room is cleaned regularly. Rooms are secured once their classes begin, and our check-in and check-out process ensures that every child leaves with the person who dropped them off.

It’s normal for children to feel nervous when they’re apart from their parents. Our team loves to care for kids in these moments with compassion and fun distractions. But rest assured, we will text you if needed. We practice a 10-minute cry guideline to ensure we do.

We have two nursing mom’s rooms. One is located outside of our main auditorium, and the second is located near the kids check-in desk. You can watch the service from both of these rooms with your little one. Ask anyone in a lanyard and they’ll help you find it.

Heartland Kids welcomes kids with diverse abilities. Please complete the following form to help us better serve you and your child. We do have a sensory room where you can watch the service with your child. This space is located in the hallway near the Dock and the Lounge. Please email Michelle Pemberton, our Kids Pastor with any questions.

Congratulations! We’d love to meet you and your new little one as soon as you’re comfortable. We also would love to share with you about our special services we offer for parents who would like to dedicate or baptize their child.

We want every child that walks through our doors to experience Heartland Kids. We also want our volunteer team members to enjoy their experience and realize there is a limit to the number of kids they can safely manage. We do our very best to have enough team members to ensure that all kids can participate in Heartland Kids  at each service, but there are times when we simply have to close a room for the benefit of everyone in the room. When this happens, it’s usually in accordance with our specific child-to-adult ratios set for each room that we believe are crucial for making sure the room can be a safe and meaningful experience. If a room is closed, families are always welcome to attend the worship service in the auditorium or watch from one of the many family-friendly areas in the atrium.

Yes! We love offering periodic events for kids and their families—including game nights, playdates and summer camps. We don’t offer other weekly kids programming because we focus all our best energy into providing the most meaningful weekend experiences we can for your kids.
