Men’s Ministry

Heartland’s men’s ministry operates under the banner of ”Everyman Ministry.”

Everyman Ministry’s vision is to lead every participating man to be a follower of Jesus.

Our mission is to create opportunities for men to gather together as a community, to grow in their knowledge of and relationship with Jesus, and to go and serve him by serving others.

Men’s Journey -

Men’s Journey is an opportunity to grow in Christ with other men who face the same life challenges as you. You have two options for taking part in Men’s Journey.  We meet every Friday at 6:15 am at Heartland and at 6:30 am at Homer’s Coffee House on 80th Street just west of Metcalf. If you are new to Men’s Journey you should feel free to drop in any Friday. At both locations, we have a “launch group” just for those not yet connected to a group. At Heartland, ask for Tom Walker, and at Homer’s ask for Brad Gregory. For more information, contact Tom Walker.

Known: Unlocking the Clarity of Who You Are (Coed Class)

You have a very unique role in God’s unfolding story. If you’re like most people, you may live your story without ever interpreting your life in light of God’s story. God created us to know our story and to be known – known by God, and known by one another.

Join us for an 8-part Wednesday night series called Known – Understading Your Story! which begins on January 18th. It’s a journey that will help you interpret your story and discover what makes you come alive like never before!

Join us January 18-March 9 from 6:30-8:00 PM.  Childcare available. Pre-registration and payment required in advance.

Called & Sent: A Study of Acts

Join us January 17 through March 8 from 6:30-8:00 PM.

Jesus clearly understood who he was and what he was called to do. He knew that as God’s son he had been sent to change the world and to restore people back to God. And astonishingly– after his death and resurrection – Jesus left his mission in the hands of a ragtag group of disciples, telling them “As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you” (John 20:21).

The book of Acts in the Bible is the true account of how this small band of Jesus followers were sent out by Jesus, how they formed the foundations of the early church, and how their courageous missional journeys transformed the known world. We will explore questions like: How was the church formed, and what did it look like? How did God change the lives of the disciples and create a movement throughout the world? How were the first Christians called and sent in such powerful ways that we are here today representing their legacy in our world? How might we be part of such a church today and see revival in our city and world again today?

Join us for our 8-part Tuesday night series, Called & Sent – A Study of Acts and find out!

Childcare is available. Pre-registration and payment required in advance.

Life’s Healing Choices for Men

Do you feel like you are the man God intended you to be, or do you feel some invisible force is holding you back? Ever feel the urge to escape, have trouble dealing with certain difficult situations, or struggle with recurring issues in relationships? If you answered yes to any of those questions, or if you feel like you  need to readjust your life’s compass, then Life’s Healing choices is for you.

Life’s Healing Choices is NOT just for guys dealing with bad habits, persistent unhealthy choices, or those whose lives are out of control. Life’s Healing Choices is for Everyone. The class is less about self-discovery, and more about abandoning yourself to God so you can find your role in His larger story. Life’s Healing Choices will help you find it.

Adult Community

Our Adult Community welcomes adults, whether single, married, divorced or widowed. If you are looking for a Sunday morning study
group, then Adult Community may just be the right fit for you. We meet Sunday mornings from 10:15 until 11:30 in room 4.

The first few minutes are spent catching up on the past week and then we dive into the current study. John Auld & Gary Blakeman facilitate this interactive discussion of the Bible and how it relates to life in today’s world. This is a safe place to voice your thoughts and hear what other people just like you are thinking. We engage with the Bible and various study materials throughout the year. Hot Roasterie coffee and tasty treats are available for your enjoyment.

For more information, contact Gary Blakeman.
