Heartland’s men’s ministry operates under the banner of ”Everyman Ministry.”
Everyman Ministry’s vision is to lead every participating man to be a follower of Jesus.
Our mission is to create opportunities for men to gather together as a community, to grow in their knowledge of and relationship with Jesus, and to go and serve him by serving others.
Men’s Journey -
Men’s Journey is an opportunity to grow in Christ with other men who face the same life challenges as you. You have two options for taking part in Men’s Journey. We meet every Friday at 6:15 am at Heartland and at 6:30 am at Homer’s Coffee House on 80th Street just west of Metcalf. If you are new to Men’s Journey you should feel free to drop in any Friday. At both locations, we have a “launch group” just for those not yet connected to a group. At Heartland, ask for Tom Walker, and at Homer’s ask for Brad Gregory. For more information, contact Tom Walker.

Men’s Fall Study – The Alpha Experience (Sept. 13 – Nov. 8) 6:30-8 PM in the Garage
Do you have questions about God, faith, or your purpose in life? Maybe you have knowledge about God, but are hoping to know him more personally.
Alpha is a 9-week opportunity to explore life’s purpose and meaning in a safe, casual, fun and friendly environment. We eat together, take in a 25-minute video teaching, and talk about real things with other guys. We will help you work out your questions about the core truths of the Christian faith. If you don’t have questions yet, you’ll begin to form them throughout the class.
Alpha is our church-wide focus for growth and ministry this Fall. We want to encourage as many people from inside our community as well as outside our walls to participate in the Alpha experience utilizing our adult and student ministries (through men’s, women’s, student and coed venues).
• We feel God is inviting us church-wide to experience more of His power and presence in our lives
• We trust that many people will discover more about a personal relationship with Jesus
• God will strengthen the faith of and equip those who participate to more fully invest in the lives of the unchurched around us in our daily lives
If you are not familiar with Alpha, it is a series of interactive sessions designed to discuss the Christian faith in an informal, fun, and friendly environment. Each week, Alpha focuses on a different faith question; exploring the big issues and unpacking the foundations of Christianity while creating a safe place for participants to ask questions.
If you have participated in Alpha before, invite a friend, co-worker or neighbor to join you and experience it together! Cost is $10 per person and includes weekly meals, a book, and our Alpha Retreat on October 28-29. All men are invited, and childcare is available for a nominal fee, but space is limited – so make sure to sign up today!

Life’s Healing Choices for Men – Tuesday Night Study (Begins Sept. 6th)
Do you feel like you are the man God intended you to be, or do you feel some invisible force is holding you back? Ever feel the urge to escape, have trouble dealing with certain difficult situations, or struggle with recurring issues in relationships? If you answered yes to any of those questions, or if you feel like you need to readjust your life’s compass, then Life’s Healing choices is for you.
Life’s Healing Choices is NOT just for guys dealing with bad habits, persistent unhealthy choices, or those whose lives are out of control. Life’s Healing Choices is for Everyone. The class is less about self-discovery, and more about abandoning yourself to God so you can find your role in His larger story. Life’s Healing Choices will help you find it.

Our Adult Community welcomes adults, whether single, married, divorced or widowed. If you are looking for a Sunday morning study
group, then Adult Community may just be the right fit for you. We meet Sunday mornings from 10:15 until 11:30 in room 4.
The first few minutes are spent catching up on the past week and then we dive into the current study. John Auld & Gary Blakeman facilitate this interactive discussion of the Bible and how it relates to life in today’s world. This is a safe place to voice your thoughts and hear what other people just like you are thinking. We engage with the Bible and various study materials throughout the year. Hot Roasterie coffee and tasty treats are available for your enjoyment.
For more information, contact Gary Blakeman.
