Heartland’s men’s ministry operates under the banner of ”Everyman Ministry.”
Everyman Ministry’s vision is to lead every participating man to be a follower of Jesus.
Our mission is to create opportunities for men to gather together as a community, to grow in their knowledge of and relationship with Jesus, and to go and serve him by serving others.
Men’s Journey -
Men’s Journey is an opportunity to grow in Christ with other men who face the same life challenges as you. You have two options for taking part in Men’s Journey. We meet every Friday at 6:15 am at Heartland and at 6:30 am at Homer’s Coffee House on 80th Street just west of Metcalf. If you are new to Men’s Journey you should feel free to drop in any Friday. At both locations, we have a “launch group” just for those not yet connected to a group. At Heartland, ask for Tom Walker, and at Homer’s ask for Brad Gregory. For more information, contact Tom Walker.

6:30pm-8:30pm Tuesday, February 16th
That’s right! We are hosting our 3rd annual Chili Bowl Cook-off, and we would love for you to be a part of it. Whether you come as a Contestant or as a defacto judge, enjoy an evening of great food, meeting with old friends and new, and hearing about some of the stuff God is up to around here. Please consider making a batch of your favorite Chili to enter into the competition – and if you do – please arrive between 6:00 and 6:15 to enter. Also, this is a great opportunity to invite a buddy to come join you for the first time. Cost is $5 (or free if you are bringing chili), but we need you to RSVP either way so that we can plan accordingly.Click HERE to register

CHRISTIAN—Tuesday Night Men’s Study
Tuesdays 6:30pm-8:00pm from January 12th to March 15th
Christian. Ask 100 people to define it, you’ll get 100 different definitions. It’s likely that all 100 will be incorrect. “Christian” is a brand that can be good, bad, attractive, or repelling. It’s a loaded label no matter whom you ask. But what does it mean to be a Christian? But where did the word come from? Why has it gotten such a bad rap? And how can we find what it means to be authentically “Christian” in ways that are unexpected, life-giving, compelling, and accessible today.
Christian—It’s Not What You Think is one of our Men’s Journey offerings that will take place on Tuesday nights from 6:30-8:00pm in the Garage beginning on January 12th. Throughout this 10 week study, you will learn the One Word that should be descriptive of every Christian, explore How Jesus followers should treat those who are outside the faith, and get an inside look into why people love Jesus but can’t stand his followers. No prior experience with Bible is necessary, but even seasoned participants in Bible Studies will be encouraged and challenged throughout this study. The cost for this study is $10 to cover copies, coffee, and one meal, and Childcare is available for a nominal nightly fee. Space is limited so you’ll want to sign up today to reserve your spot!

Life’s Healing Choices for Men
Do you feel like you are the man God intended you to be, or do you feel some invisible force is holding you back? Ever feel the urge to escape, have trouble dealing with certain difficult situations, or struggle with recurring issues in relationships? If you answered yes to any of those questions, or if you feel like you need to readjust your life’s compass, then Life’s Healing choices is for you.
Life’s Healing Choices is NOT just for guys dealing with bad habits, persistent unhealthy choices, or those whose lives are out of control. Life’s Healing Choices is for Everyone. The class is less about self-discovery, and more about abandoning yourself to God so you can find your role in His larger story. Life’s Healing Choices will help you find it.

Our Adult Community welcomes adults, whether single, married, divorced or widowed. If you are looking for a Sunday morning study
group, then Adult Community may just be the right fit for you. We meet Sunday mornings from 10:15 until 11:30 in room 4.
The first few minutes are spent catching up on the past week and then we dive into the current study. John Auld & Gary Blakeman facilitate this interactive discussion of the Bible and how it relates to life in today’s world. This is a safe place to voice your thoughts and hear what other people just like you are thinking. We engage with the Bible and various study materials throughout the year. Hot Roasterie coffee and tasty treats are available for your enjoyment.
For more information, contact Gary Blakeman.
