Men’s Ministry

Heartland’s Men’s Ministry operates under the banner of ”Everyman Ministry.”

Everyman Ministry’s vision is to lead every participating man to be a Disciple of Jesus Christ. 

Our mission is to create opportunities for men to Gather Together as a community of godly men, to Grow in their knowledge of and relationship with Jesus Christ, and to Go and Serve him by serving others.

Every Man Fridays -

Every Man Friday meets the third Friday of each month (October – June) at 6:15 am – 7:30 am. We gather in the atrium for fellowship then the program begins at 6:30 sharp.  Come gather with hundreds of men in the Heartland auditorium to be challenged by a guest speaker in your walk as a godly man. Men’s Journey -

Men’s Journey is an opportunity to grow in Christ with other men who face the same life challenges as you. You have two options for taking part in Men’s Journey.  We meet every Friday at 6:15 am at Heartland and at 6:30 am at Homer’s Coffee House on 80th Street just west of Metcalf. If you are new to Men’s Journey you should feel free to drop in any Friday. At both locations, we have a “launch group” just for those not yet connected to a group. At Heartland, ask for Tom Walker, and at Homer’s ask for Don Mardock. For more information, contact Tom Walker.

Understanding the Bible Study

Tuesdays 6:30pm-8:00pm from April 16th to May 21st

This 6 week study will help you learn the key Bible characters, places and events in chronological order. You will be able to connect the dots between the old and new testaments. Childcare Available $5 session/$30 class per child

Understanding the Christian Life Study

Tuesdays 6:30pm-8:00pm

This 12 week study by Max Anders answers the question, “What does God expect of Christians?” We will explore God’s goals and plans for us, as well as His general strategies for those who seek to follow Him.

Childcare Available $5 session/$60 class per child

Hope Center Go-Mow-Grow

Men, once again we have the chance to GO and serve the Hope Center and their mission to rebuild one of the most under-resourced communities in Kansas City.   Our job for the third consecutive year is to MOW and weed-eat the grounds on their campus on the corner of Linwood and Belfountaine.  They love it that we “own” it by scheduling the people and knowing the facility in such a way that they know things will get done.
 
Our opportunity is to GROW by making this a small group activity.  Just one week is all we ask.  Click on the link below to volunteer your group and select the date(s) that work best for you.  2 to 5 guys can knock it out in 2 or 1 hour.

Discs and Doughnuts – Sign up early and save

Teams of four will compete in this Best Toss – Shotgun Start Tournament. There will be awards for First, Second, and Third Place Teams, as well as for Longest Drive, Closest to Pin, and Longest Putt.

Men’s Evening Bible Study – Essential Commandment by Greg Ogden

Learn to love the Lord with your whole heart, soul, mind and strength and love your neighbor as yourself.  Is it really possible to live out the Great Commandment?  

Join us as we explore God’s Word and answer thoughtful questions that help us examine our hearts and lives and move us to open ourselves to God’s transforming work.

Everyman Friday, April 19

Dr. Tom Ryan, our April speaker, shared some of his personal battle with a topic familiar to most men, managing his sexuality in a God honoring way. You can watch the video of his talk which addresses the questions, “How can we integrate a healthy masculinity with a sincere spirituality in a sex-crazed culture?  And what can we do when we find our sexual behaviors becoming compulsive?”

Battle Squads Discipleship Groups

Cliff Graham, author of the “Lion of War” book series based on the life of King David and his “Mighty Men,” BROUGHT IT at Man Time. Click HERE to see a video about the movie being made from Cliff’s books. Catch that enthusiasm, whether you attended Man Time or not. Be a part of something bigger than yourself; bigger than “doing church.” Join other men in a BATTLE SQUAD. 

Battle Squads are small groups of 6-10 men who gather weekly to study what it means to be a Might Man of God. Groups will use the “Cover Me” study materials from Cliff’s Lion of War organization. Life’s Healing Choices for Men

Does your life have Hurts, Habits or Hang-ups that might be hindering
your relationship with God and those you love? We want you to know that
God can move into your life with hope, healing and growth. To begin the
healing process you must first admit the need and then allow God in. LHC
wants to help you to make healing choices that will get you “unstuck”
and on the path to freedom. We invite you to join this 10 week small
group experience of discovery and breakthrough. Life’s Healing Choices
meets every Wednesday at 7pm in one of the “Grow” rooms near the church
