What to Expect at Heartland Kids In-Person Gatherings Fall 2020

Heartland Kids-Sundays, 9 & 11 AM In-Person for Kids Birth-PreK Starting September 6

Our staff and volunteers are committed to making the Bible real to kids through creative large group teaching and intimate small group relationships.

Our curriculum is virtue based and is communicated through music, creative drama, and a Bible lesson. To help you be the primary faith shaper for your family we provide Parent Cue when you pick up your child, or via the Parent Cue App (download below).

As we adapt to gathering in-person (beginning September 6 at 9 and 11), we will be engaging a variety of safety precautions. In particular, all people ages 3 and up will be required to wear masks while in the building. This mirrors our requirement in our adult services, public spaces, and student services. Other safety precautions are described below.

Questions? CLICK HERE to email Liz Meyer, our Heartland Kids Director.

We will be asking every parent if your child or anyone living in your home has been tested, diagnosed, suspected to have, or exposed to COVID-19? If yes, then please quarantine for 14 days and worship with us from home using the resources on our Heartland Kids pages on the website.
We will be checking temperatures of all kids and volunteers prior to them entering our spaces (anyone with a fever over 100F will be asked to worship with us from home.
We ask that during our touchless drop-off and pick-up procedures you maintain a 6 foot distance from those around you. In the classrooms, we will promote social distance to the extent possible (primarily with adults and K-4 kids).
Masks will be required for kids ages 3 and older and all adults. We have a limited number of masks available for those that arrive without them, but ask that families provide their own, if possible. Remembering that, “My mask helps protect you and your mask helps protect me.” For tips and information on masks and children, CLICK HERE.
Adults and kids will be given hand sanitizer upon entering rooms and handwashing/sanitizing will take place during service. We will be cleaning and sanitizing each room before, during and after every service.
We will be limiting kids in each classroom to ensure that we can meet the 6 foot social distancing requirement.
We ask that all items from home are kept with adults or left at home. The exception is labeled bottles of formula/milk. We will provide needed diapers/wipes and no snacks will be allowed or provided.
For the health of other families and our community, we will have to turn away kids that show signs of illness or report feeling unwell. We appreciate your understanding.
We will keep a record of attendance in each room and any others serving within our Heartland Kids area. Should we receive word of a positive test, we will work with the Johnson County Health Department and notify families of the exposure.
If you have any questions regarding our reopening policy and precautions, or need to alert us of a positive test or exposure after attending Heartland Kids, please reach out to Liz Meyer, our Heartland Kids Director at lizm@heartlandchurch.org (CLICK HERE to open email link). We appreciate your grace as we implement these policies.

We focus on these three truths:

1

God made me.

2

God loves me.

3

God wants to be my friend forever.

We teach these truths through crafts, music and storytelling. We would like to help families continue teaching these truths at home with the help of “Parent Cue” available at Kids' check-in or in the Parent Cue app (download below).

If you are interested in peeking in on what a Sunday looks like for your child, email Liz Meyer to schedule a behind the scenes tour of Heartland Kids.
